Cumbria Intelligence Observatory

The Cumbria Intelligence Observatory (CIO) Project Board was established in January 2008 with an aim to create a joint-working intelligence observatory for Cumbria.

The CIO Project Board is made up of the following Members:

  • Professor John Ashton, Director of Public Health, Cumbria Primary Care Trust
  • Dr. Rebecca Wagstaff, Consultant in Public Health, Cumbria Primary Care Trust
  • Michael Hyatt, Assistant Chief Executive, Cumbria County Council
  • Neil Harris, University Secretary, University of Cumbria
  • John Moorcroft, Head of the Fire Service, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service
  • Richard Pealing, Strategy Manager, Cumbria Vision
  • Neil Rhodes, Assistant Chief Constable, Cumbria Police
  • Peter Ridgway, Chief Executive, South Lakeland District Council (representing District Councils and the Lake District National Park Authority)  

The main aim of the CIO Project Board will be to manage the activity of the Cumbria Intelligence Observatory, with agreed priorities between partners/agencies providing resources to the Observatory.
