Partnership work is about delivering improved outcomes for everyone who lives in, works in and visits Cumbria.
Recent successful examples of partnership working in Cumbria include the work that has been performed in tackling long term worklessness in Barrow. Partnership working between organisations such as Jobcentre Plus, the Learning and Skills Council, Cumbria Colleges, NHS Cumbria, Barrow Borough Council, Furness Enterprise and Cumbria County Council. This work was recognised in the 2010 Comprehensive Area Assessment and was awarded Green Flag status by the Audit Commission. The award of a Green Flag recognises the exceptional performance and innovation that has been developed in this project, and is held up as a best practice example for other areas.
